The room is being lit by the warm stage lights above, musicians walking up from the left side and setting up their instruments. Soft conversations are heard all around, laughs and smiles seen from across the room. The attention soon makes its way back onto the stage, and with that, all sound disappears. The band begins, and a powerful voice can be heard echoing all throughout the room. You can’t help but tap your foot away as the singer takes us down a journey of remembrance of a great performer whom I unfortunately did not have the pleasure to see in person. Docs Jazz Club in Houston allowed me to get a small glimpse into what a live performance from Frank Sinatra would’ve been like.
